[IMDB Completionists Series - #2 of 85]
Often endearing coming-of-age comedy that doesn't tax the grey matter too harshly.
Admittedly, this is not something that I would have stumbled across had it not been in the completionists series and honestly, I would still question its inclusion as whilst this is mostly a buddy comedy with a good heart overall, it lacks what I would describe as having the requisite qualities found in many of the other titles in this previously unseen list.
Taking nothing away from the film, this is nonetheless an entertaining watch and the performances whilst not so much as nuanced, are most certainly enthusiastic and it's easy to understand its popularity. Many films are, of course, but as a general rule, this isn't normally a reliable guide as to their quality. Just ask Marvel.
At just shy of three hours, this frivolity does drag on for about eighty minutes too long where it would have been better suited to leaving people smiling rather than looking at their watch.
Honestly, not worthy of its elevated position on the list of great films you could choose to watch, but far from terrible.
I also had to add Zoobi Doobi onto my Spotify playlist. Talk about an earworm!
