Oscars 95

A disinterested Hugh Grant, a very enthusiastic Ke Huy Quan and a black Marge Simpson. If the champagne carpet was anything to by, this was going to be a very unique, if familiarly long, evening.

Before events, it seemed that every famous face interviewed was primed to answer the same way when asked who they were rooting for. Michelle Yeoh and Everything Everywhere All at Once. So was this the one that marketed themselves the best? Would the wokerati hold sway? Only time would tell. So, onto the show!...

Well, so far, so woke. Two first time nominees picking up the awards for supporting categories, both from what looks like being the night's favourite, Everything Everywhere All at Once. Is this a sign of things to come?

Documentary Feature

Oscar Winner - Navalny

Live Action Short Film

Oscar Winner - An Irish Goodbye

And now, a plug for The Little Mermaid for some reason. WTF? Are Disney sponsoring the Oscars now? Not up for any awards as not yet even released, so why are we watching the trailer in the middle of the show? Not the Game Awards, last time I looked. Aren't there enough ads already?

Achievement in Cinematography

My Choice - All Quiet on the Western Front

Oscar Winner - All Quiet on the Western Front

Make Up & Hairstyling

Next a nod to Warner Brothers, introduced by Morgan Freeman and Margot Robbie. Another WTF moment. 100 years of Warner Brothers is great, but really, do we need a feature about it? The show is long enough.
